Tessa Hulls is an artist, writer, and adventurer equally likely to disappear into a research library or the wilderness. She has been awarded grants and fellowships from 4Culture, the Seattle Office of Arts and Culture, and the Robert McMillen Foundation, and received the 2021 Washington Artist Trust’s Arts Innovator Award. Her work has appeared in The Washington Post, Poetry NW, the Rumpus, The Margins, and more. She has exhibited her multidisciplinary visual art in a solo show at the Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History, and as a lead artist at the Wing Luke Museum. She has been awarded residencies at Yaddo, Hedgebrook, Ucross, Caldera, Playa, and others, and was the 2019 recipient of the PEN NW Wilderness Writing Residency. Feeding Ghosts (March 2024, MCD Books) is her first book.
