We wanted to make our CI process more complex so we did “Helm Template”
Join us as we navigate the challenges of transitioning to the production environment using the latest Rendered Manifest pattern. Our project is advancing towards production, and we've identified key goals to streamline this process:
1. Isolating Changes: Segregating production-specific changes in GitOps repo.
2. Enhancing Transparency: Clearly tracking Helm value modifications.
3. Minimizing Controller Involvement: Optimizing GitOps controller role.
Unified Pipeline Creation:
Discover how we tackle these challenges by implementing a unified pipeline for production deployments. We delve into the intricacies of creating a single pipeline to move and create our Production Protected branch, addressing common issues encountered along the way.
Addressing Challenges and Ensuring Transparency:
Explore the issues inherent in this pattern and learn strategies to enhance transparency throughout the deployment process.
We Broke Our Company Doing GitOps
Join us on a journey through our cloud-native development initiative at TASE, where we've embraced GitOps principles from the ground up.
Our approach involves implementing cloud-native development practices using GitOps, beginning with two distinct GitOps repositories: the Development GitOps Repo and the DevOps GitOps Repo.
These repositories offer different perspectives on our journey.
The Development GitOps Repo acts as our Minimum Viable Platform (MVP), leveraging Helm to simplify Kubernetes complexities and provide developers with a straightforward interface.
Conversely, the DevOps GitOps Repo emphasizes agility through a blend of Kustomize and Helm, enabling rapid adaptation to changes.
Learn how we centrally manage namespace creation, application sets, and Tekton pipelines, all orchestrated seamlessly by ArgoCD.
Gain valuable insights and strategies for your own cloud-native endeavors as we share our experiences in navigating the intricacies of GitOps.
