Safe and signed git commits with PGP

In this talk we will explore a little bit of background in public key encryption and set up your very own PGP public key. Then we will look at the integration between PGP and Git in the context of signing our Git commits, and even configuring Git to know which repositories to sign and which should be unsigned.

Open Source Contributor's Workshop

In this half- or full day workshop, we take a look at what open source projects and communities are, how to work with, and how to contribute to them. After the introduction, we search for "low hanging fruit", the sort of possible contribution that will get you started on your journey of becoming a full-fledged open source afficionado!

The goal of the workshop is for each participant to find an opportunity, create a meaningful contribution that fixes a meaningful issue, and to have it accepted into the project.

You don't have to be a software developer to join this workshop, as we will take you through all the steps required to complete your first contribution!

The workshop was inspired by Hacktoberfest, except we keep doing it all year long!

Need a projector to show some slides. Have done this workshop already three times during October 22, for Hacktoberfest. Target audience is primarily developers, but also people who want to manage OSS communities or learn how they can accept contributions to their own OSS project. Session duration should be at least three hours, with short breaks each hour. Can be up to a full day if split in two by lunch.
