Thomas Underhill is a product executive at NGINX, a part of F5, Inc. He previously led product trust organizations at HashiCorp and VMware, where he owned trust outcomes for multiple products. Prior to HashiCorp, Thomas was a startup founder, served in senior product development leadership at Oracle Cloud and several startups, and served as an architect at PayPal and eBay. His internet industry experience goes back to one of the earliest internet payment platforms and an early internet service provider.

Thomas’ academic background in law and business, coupled with his decades of experience in the software, internet, and general technology industries provide a balanced background to look at product challenges from multiple perspectives. Thomas has also taught courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels across multiple disciplines as an adjunct at the University of California, California State University, and University System of Maryland campuses. His cloud and product management courses were impactful on the lives of many students and he is working to make all of his course materials available for free.
