This discussion highlights how AI integration transformed traditional teaching, learning, and assessment by offering new ways to enhance student learning experiences. From there, we /imagine the possibilities of our future learning from a perspective that contrasts Global South and Global North challenges and identifies mutual needs and approaches.
As a virtual assistant, AI provides students support for unclear assessment instruction, simplifies concepts, answers difficult questions, summarises content for quicker understanding, and provides study resources, to mention just a few. Our discussion panel will provide best practices for adopting AI to improve personalized learning experiences for individual student needs, preferences, and progress.
Furthermore, the discussion will elaborate on AI strategies, institutional objectives, and tools that maximize students’ abilities to meet their learning needs while addressing ethical issues like data privacy, transparency, bias, plagiarism, and inclusivity. How can we /imagine a university that implements AI effectively for marginalized groups, individual needs, or students with learning difficulties?
The discussion will result in actionable recommendations for responsible uses of AI in higher education, practical usage of technological advancements, and consideration of ethical standards for diverse students’ contexts.
