Maximizing Performance and Reducing Injuries in Basketball
The talk covers the development of a decision support system (DSS) for athletes and coaches using sports analytics that significantly improves athletes' game performance while reducing their injury risk. It showcases a framework for collecting and integrating data from different sources (wearables, training, videos, practice data, questionnaires, and inputs from coaches) for developing predictive Machine Learning models. It discusses a longitudinal study over four seasons (2020 – 2023) and performs a causative analysis of physiological, training, and cognitive features on the performance and injury risk facilitating eXplainable AI (XAI).
