Tomislav is involved in raising innovation culture in the organizations, scouting new technology trends, creating innovation programs and a new kind of innovation campaigns. He has more than a decade of experience in Innovation and Technology Management. During years, he was the author of several innovation reward programs which raised innovation culture and a special series of inno-challenges tailored for software developers.
Through many trainings for corporates, but also entrepreneurs and students he tries to encourage different ways of thinking using future scenarios and build a capacity to innovate.
He is author of the book "Developing Innovation - Innovation Management in IT Companies" where he writes about the examples of the innovation process in various IT companies. A book on innovation management and creativity on Croatian “Free your Creativity” is a manual for starters in this topic. He is also the author of “Creative Cards” – a tool for raising creativity capabilities, idea generation, idea reshaping and self-evaluation.
He strongly believes in bottom-up innovations, creativity of everyone in the system, intrapreneurship and simple and fast innovation campaigns. He is a history lover, and many of his works connect history and future.

Agile forces on short cycles, deliverables and focus on features, but innovation needs some time and effort to be able to thrive. Product managers, team leaders and developers must find their role in the ecosystem to be able to process innovation in agile environment.

The workshop is interactive with presentation on innovation methods and the ways to create innovation process, but also with exercises on techniques how to increase personal and group skills.
We will talk about many existing examples and future scenarios. Some exercises will be in groups, others in person.
We will discuss about the ways to create innovation outcomes and the essential part of the process - including product managers to the process (what is the role of product managers?).
We will discuss on how to bring ideas to the kanboard, backlog or product plan. How to help developers in realising their ideas and managers in a way to find the right path to success story.
One notable skill is how to give quick feedback on ideas - which can be realised quickly, and which must be quickly stopped, also can we create the space for quick failure. This is the story of improvement (also micro improvements) and innovations.
We will discuss on how to encourage autonomous teams as they have space and encouragement for ideas, others not.

Product & Innovation Management in IT Companies - Product management and innovation in the time of Agile. Are Agile and innovation contrary one to another? What future brings and how will innovation activities be developed in new environments (like Cloud Native).
By giving examples of recent innovation activities of IT companies I studied for my book “Developing Innovation” I will explain the best practices used in successful environments.
I will add my personal experience of how innovation can be part of the product lifecycle in companies where I was in charge of innovation.
How to discover new products and when this happens how to secure resources to bring this discovery to market? How to connect sales, product managers and developers together in innovation activity?

How to make a fast and successful way to get new ideas? I will use examples of successful implementations that created new product discoveries or added new value to the current product? How to connect sales, product managers and developers or employees in innovation activities.
I was in charge of setting new innovation activity in the organisation that needed fast and simple innovation challenge. Connecting all stakeholders and bringing tailored approach resulted in more innovators involved, encreased number of ideas, but also - the most important - better quality of ideas.
I will try to give an answer to the question “How to setup such a challenge?” using my examples and examples of other IT companies I studied for my book “Developing Innovation”. How to align Agile and Innovation in development environment and achieve great results and have motivated colleagues?
