Tomislav Lozančić is a Lead Cloud Solutions Architect at BMW Group, where he architects and leads the Connected Vehicle Orbit platform powering over 400 Amazon EKS clusters that support the world’s largest connected vehicle fleet of 24+ million cars.
He has been instrumental in transforming BMW’s central Kubernetes platform from zero adoption to a globally used developer platform, now enabling thousands of engineers and more than 1,300 microservices.
Beyond engineering execution, Tomislav plays a key role in shaping the platform strategy across BMW Group, actively influencing the roadmaps of major hyperscalers through close collaboration and feedback at scale. He also advises senior management on strategic cloud and platform topics, helping align long-term technology direction with business goals.
His technical work and large-scale platform solutions have gained industry recognition, being featured in multiple AWS blog posts, including contributions highlighted by AWS Chief Evangelist Jeff Barr.
Specializing in cloud-native architecture, Kubernetes, and Java, he focuses on delivering highly reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient infrastructure operating at a scale few engineers encounter.
In his free time, he follows TSV 1860 München and enjoys pushing his limits through CrossFit.
