The way we builds the largest Public and Private Cloud infrastructure in Vietnam
In the last 5 years, Viettel went from a zero Cloud company to the largest Cloud service provider in Vietnam.
First, we need “Go Cloud” to solve existing problems of IT infrastructure in Viettel: fragmented servers/networking devices/storage devices (over 12k devices, lots of vendors). Therefore, it is required to have a total solution to solve the above problems and should be implemented as soon as possible due to the expanding scale of the infrastructure.
Second, Viettel is the biggest Telco in Vietnam. We need to decide how will we build Telco Cloud: combine with IT Cloud or separate, self-build or buy from vendors.
Third, how can we customize OpenSource Cloud Platforms to fit our requirements? What is our strategy to contribute to upstream?
In this presentation, we will share our go-to-cloud journey by utilizing open source projects like Prometheus, Kubernetes, Fluentd, OpenStack, Ceph for building and managing such a large infrastructure like above.
