The Story of DevOps Cultural Transformation in a Large Fintech

DevOps requires cultural transformation which is the most challenging aspect of overall transformation as changing mindset and behavior is more demanding than implementing tools and strategies. The challenge turn out to be even more complex when it is applied in a Fintech providing services in a highly regulated industry. The complexity expands when Fintech is large-sized and have been carrying 20 years old legacy processes and systems. The speaker has led the transformation in such an organization as Head of DevOps for more than 3 years and want to share his challenges and the experience of how he overcame them. Some of the challenges are still outstanding for which struggle is going on, which will be shared in the session with their road map.

DevOps to DataOps: The Story of Large Fintech Company

DevOps has been serving software development and operations for around a decade now to accelerate software delivery pipeline through automation. It's a high time to apply statistical process control to Agile and DevOps to take full advantage of the data, being the new gold. DataOps take into account the needs and preferences of various stakeholders as one of the primary benefits. This session will provide insights about some real-time challenges of a large fintech company in its DevOps cycle and how they were resolved by generating, managing and analyzing the relevant data.

CI/CD implementation in Fintech organizations: Dream or Reality?

On one hand, financial institutions (banks to be more specific) are considering themselves as technology companies with banking license. So, they are not only striving hard to use sophisticated technologies but also expecting their vendors to be more technologically innovative and progressive than ever before. But on the other hand, they are constrained by the industry regulations and their legacy processes complying to them. This leaves their technology partners and vendors with a dichotomy and they are often indecisive about leveraging CI/CD and DevOps processes and tools not addressing the challenges of Fintech industry explicitly.

I want to share my journey of facing the similar challenges while working with the conservative financial institutions of South Asia, Africa and Middle east and trying to ensure continuous and reliable software delivery with automated delivery pipeline. It took some serious effort and significant number of plan-do-check-act cycles to reach to a point which is worth sharing with the world while still having some work in progress.
