Dr. Urvashi Vaid is an associate professor in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine who is passionate about the education of future physicians on the continuum from medical school to fellowship. Her focus is on undergraduate medical education, medical education research focused on uncertainty and learning in the clinical environment, pulmonary physiology, and critical care medicine.
She was an integral part of the curricular transformation at SKMC- moving from a siloed traditional Flexnerian curriculum to a fully integrated system-based curriculum and now directs the Preclinical Phase of medical school (Phase 1) while simultaneously attending in the medical ICU.
She has won several awards from our medical students and residents- Top 25 most highly rated teacher, the Deans Award for Excellence in Education, Senior Faculty Portrait presented by the Class of 2017 and The Thomas J Nasca Award for Distinguished Teaching and Dedication to Student Medical Education in 2022.
She aims to continue to teach, innovate and explore learning in the UME to CME continuum
