Building a real time messaging app with 100% serverless
HooChat is a mobile application to hang out with people and share your thoughts semi-anonymously. In this talk, I will be showcasing how we built the peer-to-peer messaging application using AWS Serverless services like Lambda, API Gateway WebSockets, and DynamoDB. We deep dive into technical considerations that we made to make sure the application scales and runs without any issues even with spiky and unexpected traffic with negligible cloud cost.
Different Ways to Build Serverless Applications
Building Serverless Applications that uses various cloud resources can be tricky. Depending on the cloud provider, there are various tools that can be used to develop, test and deploy serverless applications. This talk focuses on some of the common tools that are out there and how they can solve individual problems.
We will be discussing features of SAM (Serverless Application Model), Serverless Framework, CDK and Serverless Stack and see how each of them help to develop serverless applications in different ways.
