I am a researcher at the Internet Infra System Research Center in Seoul, South Korea, focusing on Edge Computing and 5G. Recently, I have been actively participating, discussing and testing Nephio and Project-Flotta. My current emphasis is on the IoT sector, and I am eager to participate in other Open-Source community projects. With a strong background in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), my interests lie in edge computing, 5G, and Kubernetes.

Unleashing the Potential of IoT Wireless Devices with Kubernetes at Edge

Developing an IoT system as a service requires careful planning and considerations in terms of communication technology usage and management of IoT end node devices. These IoT nodes are generally resource constrained to run Kubernetes on their own. Additionally, there is a diverse range of wireless technologies used in the IoT field, making it more complex to achieve interoperability. While Project-Flotta focuses on edge devices and workload management, this talk explores the extended approach to Project-Flotta for dynamic management and observability of IoT end nodes in a heterogeneous wireless setup. We delve into the reasons behind this approach and the significant role it plays in achieving interoperability and ensuring seamless integration between different IoT wireless technologies.

Making IoT Simple: Leveraging Akri & Nephio in a Hybrid Cloud Environment

When it comes to IoT, many engineers encounter challenges in automating infrastructure provisioning, deploying IoT applications across multiple sites, and managing thousands of IoT devices spread across different geographic locations. The complexity and dynamic nature of IoT ecosystems, characterized by diverse protocols and ever-changing statuses, makes it overwhelming.

Imagine an automated approach that seamlessly deploys and configures these devices in real-time. GitOps has emerged as a leading trend to facilitate collaboration, configuration, and deployment of intricate and dynamic applications. Join us for this session where we present our solution for deploying dynamic IoT applications over a Private 5G network in a hybrid cloud environment. This session will give details on how the integration of CNCF projects such as Nephio, and Akri can transform your IoT management through the adoption of GitOps principles.
