Vivek Koodakkara Shanmughan is a Senior Manager of Engineering with over a decade of experience delivering scalable and secure software solutions across the full software development lifecycle. He currently serves at Aryaka Networks, where he has led the design and development of several critical components of Aryaka’s Unified SASE platform.
His key contributions at Aryaka include the MyAryaka Customer Portal, where he oversaw the implementation of status and configuration modules that significantly improved the onboarding workflow and security policy configuration. He was also the architect and driving force behind the Aryaka Identity Manager (AIM), which integrates with enterprise Identity Providers such as Active Directory, Microsoft Entra, DUO, Okta, and LDAP, and handles high-volume identity synchronization and login traffic.
In addition, Vivek led the development of a natural language-based navigation assistant for the MyAryaka portal. This chatbot uses OpenAI's LLM to help users retrieve information more intuitively, resulting in improved customer efficiency and task completion.
Before Aryaka, Vivek spent eight years at Cisco Systems, where he served as a Technical Lead on projects such as Cisco Configuration Professional (CCP) and Cisco CP Express, enabling GUI-based management for Cisco ISR routers. He also contributed to the development of Unified Threat Management (UTM) tools, implementing features like firewall, IPS, content security, and VPNs for SMB users.
He began his career at MRO-Tek, developing Liteview Manager, a web-based SNMP-enabled network management system that supported configuration and monitoring of MRO-Tek products.
Vivek's technical skill set includes Java (Spring Boot), Vue.js, MySQL, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, Docker, and Keycloak. He is also experienced in Agile methodologies and cross-functional team leadership. He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from the Cochin University of Science and Technology (2004).
