Service Mesh Empower Robots Embodied Intelligence
Robots' collaboration and communication are crucial in various domains, but ensuring their security is a challenge. Unauthorized access to communication clusters by robots can lead to serious incidents. Currently, robots operate within the edge computing paradigm, benefiting from powerful functionalities. To address robot communication security effectively, we present Edgemesh and Kmesh. Edgemesh is a network plugin for the kubeedge, securely and efficiently connecting edge nodes and robots. It enables seamless communication among robots across subnets, overcoming network barriers. Kmesh, a high-performance service mesh dataplane based on eBPF, offers advanced traffic governance strategies for robot scenarios. It utilizes eBPF-level traffic routing and robust security capabilities to support reliable robot tasks.Edgemesh and Kmesh are lightweight software solutions that enhance robot communication security and traffic governance. They unlock new opportunities and challenges in robotics.
Innovation in Logistics Services in the Cloud-Native Era: Practice and Inspiration from SF Express
As a leading logistics company in China, SF Express will share how it completed the digital and edge cloud transformation of its logistic business. SF Express used a hierarchical organization structure and cloud-native technologies (such as Kubernetes, CNI plugins, and KubeEdge+EdgeMesh solutions) to handle large volumes of users and goods. By pushing data processing and computing logic into the logistics nodes and integrating edge devices using KubeEdge, an intelligent logistics system was built, achieving full-process automation and improving efficiency and accuracy. The integration of EdgeMesh connects cloud and edge and realizes the real-time collection, processing, transmission, and analysis of application data, creating an efficient, secure, and reliable edge network. While reducing resource usage and complexity of edge devices, the edge solution helps address the limitations and challenges of Kubernetes in edge scenarios.
