Tighten Windows Security with modern security, keeping users happy

Cyberattacks against organizations have evolved into a serious black-market business in recent years, making device security more important than ever. Antivirus, firewall, and disk encryption alone are no longer enough.

Discover which modern security technologies IT departments should implement today—and how to troubleshoot issues caused by tightened security measures to ensure a smooth user experience.

We’ll cover Microsoft Security Baseline troubleshooting and best practices, and compare them with CIS benchmarks. Practical tips will be demonstrated for managing Windows Firewall and Attack Surface Reduction (ASR) rules.

We’ll also address one of the most critical security topics: why users should not operate their workstations with admin rights, and which free tools can help manage occasional admin-level tasks safely.

After transitioning to cloud-based management with Intune, workstation security monitoring becomes essential. Learn the key elements of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and how to maximize its monitoring capabilities.

For Intune admins, security people OR even decision maker who is interested in Windows modern security. Some technical demos included.

Additional automation for Windows Management with MS Intune

Microsoft Intune is the leading solution among Endpoint Management platforms—no doubt about it. However, Intune still has some limitations compared to Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM), Group Policies, and certain third-party tools.

Over the past six years working with Intune, I’ve developed several solutions that make Windows management more automated. My goal is to avoid increasing licensing costs by introducing additional platforms, and instead leverage Microsoft PowerShell as much as possible—at no extra cost.

In this demo session, I’ll present my custom scripts:

1. Install drivers and BIOS updates during Autopilot—a capability still missing from Intune’s native Driver Update management.

2. Manage Windows Registry with PowerShell and deploy configurations via Intune in a structured way.

3. Install and update third-party applications for free using Winget—including my own solution to run it in System Context.

4. Evaluate Autopilot v2 readiness and demonstrate how to use traditional Autopilot without device hashes using my own methods.

This is most useful for Intune admins having the experience to manage the platform. This session is about all my additional scripts content to be able to increase your Windows automation level in areas Intune built-in capabilities is still lacking. I have performed this session multiple times in user groups.

Intune Best Practises

The popularity of Microsoft Intune began to grow among organizations after 2019. Today, many organizations already use Intune to manage their devices. As an Intune expert and device management consultant, I’ve worked with a wide range of organizations and witnessed both best practices and common mistakes in device management.

My goal has always been to keep the infrastructure clear and well-structured, so that any admin logging into your organization’s tenant for the first time can immediately understand the logic behind the setup. Recognizing the importance of naming conventions and proper targeting is key to success. I follow Microsoft’s best practices and recommendations in this area, and you’ll see how a well-designed environment should look.

We’ll also discuss managing and backing up configurations, explore the benefits of Windows Autopatch, and how it can be integrated into a clean and organized environment. If you’re not using Windows Autopatch, I’ll show you how to cluster your environments using automatic deployment rings to maintain stability—even when vendors or developers introduce bugs or errors.

Several lab demos will be presented during this session

How to keep you Intune environment clean and understandable for guest-admins. This session is for both experienced and new Intune admins working with the platform. Duration 45-60min. Microsoft Best Practice guide is also included.
