How I Built a Route Optimized Delivery Map in Flutter Without Google Maps

Almost every logistics app needs maps and routing. The problem is that Google Maps gets expensive very fast when a rider app is making thousands of calls every day. So for a live rider delivery app, I built the whole map using flutter_map for the map and OSRM for real road routing. No Google Maps and no paid map SDK.

In this short 15-20 minute talk, I will show how all the pieces work together in a real app that is live today. You will see how the rider location and routes are drawn on flutter_map, how OSRM gives real road paths, and how the app talks to a backend that decides the best order of delivery stops.

Since this is a real app in production, I will also share what worked, what broke, and what I would do differently. The idea is simple. You should be able to walk out and build this yourself without paying for a map SDK.
