Automation with GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps
Automation for free! That sounds like a dream, but it can be a reality! Both GitHub and Azure DevOps allow for a limited amount of free pipeline runs on their platform.
In this workshop you will learn how to set up a pipeline in Azure DevOps and an Action in GitHub to run code and perform actions. During this workshop several different aspects will be covered like:
- Building modular systems so you don’t have to reuse code
- Working with secrets and certificates and keeping them safe
- Creating your pipelines/actions flexible by using parameters and conditional logic
- Creating reports or files in your automation and how to store them
Some basic knowledge of PowerShell will come in handy as we’ll be using that to write some scripts but besides that everything will be explained. So if you want to set up a nice CI/CD pipeline or you want to automate something that runs periodically then join this workshop to find out how to create that with GitHub or Azure DevOps!
You are ready for AI! But are your users?
We’ve all been preparing for the rise of AI since Terminator hit the movie theaters. But the average user might be lost in the web of (mis)information about AI at the moment!
The European AI Act is something that can guide you. I will translate this Act into practical solutions you can apply. You will learn how to manage the AI literacy in your company and how themes like AI ethics and hallucinations affect that and other aspects of the AI Act. I will also address the big elephant in the room; will AI take over their job? I will show how you can deal with this fear and what you can do to make sure you can start using AI without being forced to let go of people!
So if you want to know what you NEED to do to prepare the users, and how you can convince them to follow along. Join this session and find out and start helping the AI transition!
Secure your cloud automation
So you decided to use PowerShell and other tools to automate tasks in your cloud platform? Are you sure this automation is secured properly and not causing any more attack surfaces for malicious actors?
In this talk I will cover different ways of automating your cloud platform and risks involved with these techniques. I will go over topics like authentication, secrets, auditability and more. I’ll also show situation I encountered in the field and how these were fixed to provide more confidentiality, integrity and availability.
So if you want to learn to automate your could platform with a zero trust policy, then join this talk! Afterward you will know common mistakes and how to avoid them while also being capable of setting up proper automation in the cloud!
Make your automations more sustainable
As automation experts there isn’t much we can do about the emissions right? Right !? What if I told you that there are numerous API’s and data sets available which could help you make your automations more sustainable.
During this talk I will show you several data sources for the European market. I will demonstrate how you can connect to these data sources and how to utilize the data. I will also demo how you can use this data for several situations that you can encounter in your job.
For example have you considered creating a scheduler for your automations? This scheduler could run the automations when the maximum amount of green energy is available. Or what about a tool which will move resources around based on the amount of green energy available in regions?
Of course there are many caveats to keep in mind too, like the cost of network traffic and other hidden costs. So if you want to know how to make your automations more sustainable while keeping the other costs in mind then join this session!
How you got hacked before the code hit production
With the rise of AI coding assistants a new attack vector has opened up for hackers! Let’s dive into the world of typosquatting and other techniques that hackers have been using. Does AI protect you against these attacks or is it maybe even more vulnerable?
In this talk you will learn how hackers can use the software supply chain and target dependencies in different ways to eventually get to your code. To remedy this you can set up artifact systems which allow you to check dependencies before they hit your code.
If you want to learn how to make your coding environment safer and prevent hackers from tricking you or your AI assistant, join this talk and find out!
Clean and Controlled AI with API Management
Everyone uses AI to improve their organization, but if you are not careful, you’ll drain your budget, increase energy usage, or create risks you never intended. Do you keep a leash on your AI?
In this session I will demonstrate how to bring solid governance and sustainability into your AI landscape using Azure API Management and Azure AI Foundry. You will learn about practical controls such as content filtering, token-aware throttling, and caching. I will show you when and how to implement these controls to create safer and more sustainable AI systems.
If you want your organization to waste less energy on AI systems while making them safer to use, this talk is for you!
