Securing your Dynamics 365 infrastructure: best practices and tips

Dynamics 365 for finance and supply chain is a powerful cloud-based ERP solution that helps you optimize your business processes and operations. However, to ensure the security and compliance of your data and systems, you need to follow some best practices and tips for securing your Dynamics 365 infrastructure. In this session, you will learn:

- How to secure access to Azure Resources. We will look at how you can secure access to Azure DEV VMs for D365Fo without breaking functionality, what challenges exist when setting up secure access from a Saas Service to Azure resources and how we can mitigate these for delivering a secure solution.
- How to use Entra ID identity and access for your Dynamics 365 users and applications. You will learn how to integrate securely and authenticated to D365FO, enforce multi-factor authentication and conditional access, and integrate with other Azure services.
- How to use Azure Key Vault and Azure Storage to store and manage your encryption keys and secrets for your Dynamics 365 data. You will discover how to create and manage key vaults and storage accounts, encrypt and decrypt your data, and rotate and revoke your keys and secrets.

By the end of this session, you will have a better understanding of how to secure your Dynamics 365 infrastructure and leverage the capabilities of Azure to enhance your security posture.

Delivering an ERP project with multiple partners

In this session, you will learn about the challenges and best practices of delivering an ERP project with multiple partners and governance. You will also explore the different types of governance models that can be used in ERP projects and how they affect the project outcomes.

ERP projects are complex and require effective collaboration and coordination among multiple partners, such as vendors, consultants, customers, and stakeholders. However, working with multiple partners can also pose various challenges, such as misalignment of expectations, communication gaps, conflicting interests, and lack of trust. How can you overcome these challenges and ensure a successful ERP project delivery?

In this session, you will discover how to manage multiple partners in ERP projects and how to establish a clear and effective governance structure. You will also learn about the best practices for delivering an ERP project with multiple partners, such as defining roles and responsibilities, setting common goals and objectives, creating a communication plan, and monitoring and controlling the project progress.

By the end of this session, you will understand which factors will drive the priority in different projects. How to configure the tools to support a complex project organization and which decisions will make the delivery less complex. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and share your experiences with other attendees.

Ax 2012 is out of support... What happens now?

On January 10th, 2023, extended support rän out for Dynamics AX 2012 R3.

Upgrading from Dynamics AX 2012 to Dynamics 365 for Finance and Supply Chain Management is a looming reality for all businesses utilizing AX today since Microsoft ended extended support for AX 2012 R3 in 2023. Since upgrading to Dynamics 365 is not a simple process, even though it will bring a lot of new features and improvement, the project will run for quite some time and while that happens we will still have to mitigate the risks of having an unsupported ERP.

In this session we will go through the risks and the steps we need to take in order to mitigate them. This is not a session on how to avoid upgrading... it is a session on how to invest less time and money in something being deprecated by keeping is fairly stable a secure, while focusing more on "what is to come".

Power Platform and DualWrite from a FnO perspective

The way we integrate from Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations to Dynamics 365 for Sales/CE have fundamentally changed when Microsoft launched DualWrite. Two separate products with a fundamentally/fairly different data model are getting merged into one suite. Understanding the limits and differences between the two products is fundamental for success.

The session will look at what to expect when implementing dualwrite; the process, the challenges and what you need to understand in order to get a smooth setup. We will also look at some of the troubleshooting and some workarounds.

Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Implementing Dynamics 365 FO* (*But Were Afraid to Ask)

Introduktion till Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations ur ett tekniskt perspektiv

Rapid Cloud Transition of Business Applications - A transition from legacy to modern and intelligen

In the age of fast moving information and exponentially increasing volumes of data, the ERP has become the center of operations, or “Single point of truth”. New demands are put on the system and how it is developed and managed. Today high paced rollouts and agile management is required to meet the expectations of the organization.

In this session we will have a look at how Microsoft has changed (the product formerly known as) Dynamics AX/Axapta from an on-premise monolith to a cloud hosted, flexible and modern solution, all while customers are in full production. We will walk through:

From a customization and integration perspective – what has changed?
External micro services and integration platform – how Microsoft is working with them to extend the platform instead of relying on in-product customizations
The application LifeCycle of the product – how has it changed to support regular updates and new features at a faster pace than ever, while still being the "System of Intelligence"
We will also have a look at the upcoming strategy for merging the Dynamics 365 Suite of products in to a "Center of Knowledge"

Updates, features and testing - ALM for a new ERP?

When Microsoft introduced the One Version vision for Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations the reactions were mostly "How on earth are we supposed to manage this"

During our implementations we have seen the value (importance?) in establishing a "way-of-working" at an early stage to smoothly transition into the management of continuous update after golive.

In this session we will look at a process for managing monthly updates, activation of features while ensuring a stable system at a reasonable effort and why it is important to take a long-term perspective to maintaining the system in a "Product-focused" approach rather than "Project-focused".

Lessons learned from 20+ template rollouts

One of the biggest challenges in rolling out and ERP implementation for a large company it creating a viable template that can be used to "industrialize" the rollout and make sure that you will a homogenous setup across your implementations.

In this session you will get tips on how to ensure the template quality, how to manage your Golden Config environment and how to build a bullet proof process for copying configuration data between companies and environments, with minimum effort, while being able to focus on setting the business processes and creating business value for the end users. Automation is the key to maintaining the process and make it less affected by "The human factor". We will also discuss the value in having a single source of truth for you configuration data to be able to monitor for accidental changes.
