I'm a results-driven data professional with nearly two decades of experience dedicated to transforming data into strategic assets. My journey began in the intricate world of data and systems integration, mastering ETL/ELT processes to build robust foundations. For the past 15 years, my expertise has deepened within the Microsoft data stack, spanning traditional BI tools (SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS), the extensive Azure Data Platform services, and Power BI. Crucially, the last two years have seen me at the forefront of Microsoft Fabric, pioneering its capabilities.
Beyond core data integration, I bring 8 years of hands-on experience in creating and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines within Azure DevOps, ensuring streamlined, automated, and reliable deployments for a diverse range of data projects. This commitment to operational excellence extends to my 3 years of experience in managing and nurturing a team of Data Engineers, fostering growth and driving collaborative success.

If you've spent years running SQL Server, Microsoft Fabric can feel like someone rearranged your entire office overnight. The good news: most of what you already do as a DBA still applies, you just need to learn where everything moved.
In this session we'll take a friendly tour of Fabric administration built around the instincts you've already earned. We'll start with platform administration and how the admin portal, tenant settings, and workspace roles line up with the access controls you manage now.
We'll talk through connections and gateways, then spend real time on capacity monitoring (capacity units, throttling, smoothing, and the Capacity Metrics app) because that's the part that behaves most differently from a server under load.
By the end, the terminology won't feel foreign, and you'll have a clear map connecting Fabric administration back to the SQL Server world you know.

Before I became a speaker the barrier that kept me in my seat was never a lack of knowledge, it was a lack of belief. I assumed the people on stage were made of something I wasn't. Looking back, the only real difference between us was proximity: they had gotten near the people and places where speaking happens, and I hadn't yet. A principle I stumbled into gave me the nudge, and the community did the rest.
In this session I'll walk you gently through my own path from audience member to speaker and the small, doable steps that got me there. You'll leave with the exact recipe I used, a blueprint of how I craft and submit my sessions, and the resources I still rely on today.
