Adam Dawson
Experienced Engineering Manager and grassroots community leader
Adam found his passion for people management when he was tasked with growing a global graduate development network. With only voluntary contributors to lean on, he assembled a team who took the network from 500 to 4,500 members and grew its global footprint from 20 to 90 locations, all in the space of 18 months.
In the years since, he has translated the leadership philosophy inspired by this experience into a successful framework that has helped him form and lead several high performing teams. He is currently an Engineering Manager in the residential construction industry, overseeing a team of 12 engineers across the Asia Pacific region.
In the web3 world, Adam is the Content Lead at humanDAO and a 'protocol specialist' for the RabbitHole metagovernance team.

Leading Volunteers
Building in web3 is attractive in part because of the potential for lucrative rewards. In the early stages of a project, however, most contributors will be donating their time or accepting compensation in tokens whose value is speculative and volatile. Keeping team members engaged without the support and stability of a salary requires a very different, non-technical skill set.
This presentation outlines the critical soft skills for successfully leading a team of volunteers and provides a simple framework that any project leader can apply to improve morale, engagement, retention, and results.
Building Personal Resilience
web3 is relentless. Inevitably you will find it overwhelming, and your long term success will come down to how well you bounce back. This is the essence of resilience.
Resilience is a very personal skill, but the good news is that it can be taught and strengthened with the help of some simple tools. By repositioning adversity as an opportunity, not a threat, and highlighting some highly effective personal habits, this session is designed to help you become a more robust and successful contributor to your web3 projects.
