Small business faces a lot of uncertainty in today's world between rising costs and ever evolving threats in the cyber landscape. Small businesses face an ever growing challenge to secure their infrastructure and data. In this session, we will walk thru how a small business can be a victim of a ransomware attack and how proper technology and partnerships can help a business recover. The session will entail a day by day look at how an attack can occur, be detected, and be remediated.
Effective communications in the midst of inexperience
It is hard to stand up in front of an audience and speak in front of your peers. The nerves can be hard to overcome and imposter syndrome sets in. It is easy to loose sight of what you knew when you are in front of a crowd. There are 3 things that have helped me in my own journey that would be useful: 1) Take ownership of what you know, 2) Be open with what you don't, & 3) Lean on your peers.

Over the past year, AI has been talk of the town in terms of emerging technology. There is a lot of discussion around how AI technology and capabilities will be utilized both for the betterment and the detriment of our world and those around us. One of the first attempts to manage these risks from a regulatory perspective is the AI Risk Management Framework from NIST. This session will be a crash course on that standard and some preliminary analysis/dialogue around how effective the standard will be.
