Building a Unified Name Space for driving I4.0 transformation
UNS is a mechanism for manufacturing companies to transform their landscape to an even driven , loosely coupled architecture. This is a fundamental foundation for driving Industry 4.0 transformation.
I will explain the concept of UNS, potential architectural variants and my attempt of building one using opensource software for MQTT, K8s, Timeseries DB, Graph DB.
I evaluated the following technologies for building my prototype and will share my learning
1. K3s vs MicroK8s
2. HiveMQ, Mosquitto, VerneMQ, Emqx
3. Influx , TimescaleDb
4.Telelegraf , MQTT Plugin, Serverless
5. GraphDB ( still being evaluated)
Cloud transformation , the non technical aspects
Despite Cloud being around for over a decade , there are fundamental aspects to consider which seem to be missed by firms starting their cloud journey.
I'll share the aspects which found as avenues for us to keep in mind as organizations start or continue their cloud journey
- Operational
- Cultural
- Financial
- Business Imperatives.
- Technical
This will not be a prescriptive presentation but rather focus on the key questions that need investigation.
Debugging the Human Layer: Applying Systems Thinking to Team Dynamics
In DevOps, we obsess over the "Three Ways": Flow, Feedback, and Continuous Learning. We build robust CI/CD pipelines and automated testing to eliminate technical friction, yet we often ignore the most volatile component in our architecture: the humans.
This session explores how personality and team dynamics assessments function as "telemetry" for your human systems. By understanding the underlying "code" of our team members—their communication protocols, stress-response thresholds, and cognitive biases—we can move from accidental collaboration to intentional high-performance.
I will present a few personality assessments I have used personally, as well as with my teams ( no brand endorsements ), that the audience can consider to use to get a better understanding of themselves
