Dr. Madana Kumar, PhD is an experienced professional with close to four decades of experience in various industries at senior levels. The organisations he worked for include Bharti, HCL, IBM and UST. He likes to be called as the Servant Leadership Evangelist, more than anything else. He is currently balancing two leadership roles. In the corporate role, he is currently the Vice President and Global Head of Leadership development at a midsize IT services company (UST Global). In this role he is spearheading the inculcation of Servant Leadership as the overarching Leadership theme within his organisation. His leadership has brought many laurels to the organisation, including the inclusion in the Global Learning Elite list published by the Global CLO magazine, several Brandon Hall awards and CLO awards. He has personally been awarded many times as the Global CLO of the year, Talent Development Champion of the year etc. . Prior to joining UST he spent several years as Associate Director at IBM Corporation, influencing Learning and Development of IBM employees in 170 countries across the globe including India.

In his role as an entrepreneur, he co-founded the consulting organisation namely Leadyne Organisation Builders specifically to take the message of Servant Leadership to corporates, Universities, NGOs etc. His current client list includes companies like Unilever, CGI Info systems, UST, Christ University, H&R Block, ESAF Bank etc. He is involved in designing and rolling out customised Servant Leadership interventions for these organisations.

During his career, Madana has held many leadership positions, in Manufacturing, Technology Management, Total Quality Management, Project management etc. His latest roles has been in the field of Leadership development, as a facilitator for senior leaders, a master trainer for training other trainers, and as a manager and leader of a team of international trainers, learning administrators, learning consultants, designers, subject matter experts and strategists. He is a mentor and many people have benefitted from his mentorship both within the organisation and outside. He is also a passionate teacher of Leadership and speaks on the topic at various forums. He is a regular speaker at national events like the NHRD, HR summit, CLO summit, ATD summit USA and Dubai etc. His thoughts are sought after and published by the student publications in some IIMs, and other first tier Management institutes. His articles are also published in reputed magazines like CIO review, TD Magazine USA, People Matters-BITS Pilani research, CMFI Journal, CEO Insights etc. He is also a guest speaker at management institutes like TISS Mumbai, MHROD Delhi, FMS Delhi, Symbiosis , MS Ramaiah Bangalore etc , Premier Institutions like NIT Trichy, IIT Kharagpur, IIM Kashipur etc, and Bible Colleges. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Business Administration. He has dual bachelor Degrees , a B.Sc (Physics) and a BE in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Indian Institute of Science , Bangalore. He holds an Advanced Diploma in Business Administration (with HR specialisation) and two Certificates on Leadership awarded by the Cornell University , USA.

For his Doctoral work, Madana Kumar studied the application of Servant Leadership in Indian NGOs.

Madana lives in Bangalore, India with his wife Leslie, who is a home maker. Their son Neville is an HR professional.
