Eileen Belastock, CEO of Belastock Consulting, is an edtech strategist who understands and promotes the critical relationship between technology and education. As a former K12 CTO, she has championed safety and security, encouraged student agency, and supported educators to provide students with equitable access to their education.

She is a published author on educational technology, educational leadership, data privacy, and cybersecurity. In addition, she serves as a national presenter, media contributor, and on advisory boards and the 2020 top 100 Ed-Tech Influencer and 2022 Edtech Digest Leadership Award finalist.

Cybersecurity: It's Everyone's Responsibility

School districts have become a promising target for cybercriminals to capitalize on student data. Using phishing emails, stolen passwords, and posing online as legitimate district staff and administrators, these criminals shut down networks, disrupt learning, and hold student/staff data hostage.

Ensuring a safe learning environment requires the collaboration of the entire school community. Everyone has a part to play in reducing the risk of a cyber-attack, from virtual or in-person teachers to district superintendents. Attendees will learn strategies to ensure digital safety using the “zero-trust zone” approach and practical steps for building a robust district cybersecurity plan.
