Fabian Lober ist seit 14 Jahren im IT-Bereich tätig. Nach seiner Ausbildung als Fachinformatiker war er als Engineer, Tech Lead und Consultant in verschiedenen Branchen tätig. Seit 2015 ist er beruflich in der Cloud unterwegs, privat war AWS sogar schon 2012 im ersten Einsatz. Mit der Verwendung von Kubernetes und Software-Defined Storage war er 2015 zukunftsweisend unterwegs und ist stets bestrebt, neueste Technologien auszuprobieren.
Die Möglichkeit, in der Cloud schnell Umgebungen aufzubauen, ohne auf langwierige Hardware-Bestellungen angewiesen zu sein, fasziniert ihn. Spontan Änderungen zu planen und falls es mal nicht wie gewünscht funktioniert, diese wieder zu löschen, sieht er als einen der großen Vorteile der Cloud. Sein Herz schlägt für moderne applikationsbasierte Infrastruktur, die mit Hilfe von Managed Services, Microservice-Architekturen, CI/CD etc. unglaublich skalierbar, flexibel und effizient geworden ist.

We will dive deep into what we reversed engineered and show how it is designed and built.
Among others, we will answer the questions: Why was this design approach chosen? What are the consequences for you as a user? What if you would like to adopt this design? How much money is AWS saving with this design?
Furthermore, we demonstrate how it could be improved and show a few performance examples.

In diesem Talk werden ich vorstellen wie wir die Installation, Konfiguration und Wartung von Siemens SIMATIC Microbox PCs an verschiedenen Standorten mit AWS realisiert haben. Außerdem zeige ich wie das Deployment von Applikationen automatisiert wurde.
Bei der Umsetzung wurde unter anderem mit AWS Systems Manager und GreenGrass V2 gearbeitet, gepaart mit vielen "Das geht nicht?"-Momenten.

Migrating to Amazon FSx for Windows is easy, isn’t it?
Amazon FSx is a fully managed service that makes setting up and operating file storage in the AWS cloud easy. But is this the truth? That's what we will discuss in this talk!
We start with a short introduction to Amazon FSx and then dive straight ahead into the deeps of FSx.
For example, we will cover what you need to consider when planning and creating file shares, how you determine the suitable deployment types for your use case, and figuring out what throughput you need and especially since this is more complicated than expected.
I share learnings, pitfalls, best practices and processes for designing and migrating on-premise filesharers to Amazon FSx.
This talk requires that you have a good understanding of basic AWS concepts and services, as well as of migration concepts and tools.
