GitHub Management Using IssueOps
IssueOps transforms GitHub issues into structured service requests that can trigger automated workflows powered by bots while keeping repository administrators informed and in control.
In this session, you’ll learn the core concepts behind IssueOps and how it can streamline GitHub operations by turning common administrative tasks into simple, trackable issue-based processes. We’ll walk through the key components needed to design and implement your own IssueOps setup, including how to build automation that responds to requests and enforces governance.
Through a technical overview and practical examples, we’ll explore real-world use cases such as repository lifecycle management, user and team membership provisioning, and other routine administrative workflows. By the end, you’ll have a clear understanding of how to introduce IssueOps into your GitHub environment to reduce manual effort, improve transparency, and scale operations efficiently - all with a little help from GitHub Copilot.
Our organization was encouraged by Microsoft to explore the IssueOps approach as a way to automate and standardize GitHub organization management. In this session, I’ll share our practical experience adopting this model, including lessons learned, challenges, and outcomes.
The session touches on the following areas: DevOps practices, PowerShell automation, GitHub Actions, GitHub Copilot, and GitHub platform administration.

Beyond Autocomplete: GitHub Copilot across VS Code and GitHub
GitHub Copilot is evolving from a coding assistant into a platform-wide AI companion that supports developers across the entire workflow. This session provides a concise overview of how Copilot enhances productivity both in Visual Studio Code and within the GitHub portal, from generating code and documentation to helping navigate and understand repositories.
We’ll then explore how to take Copilot further by building custom agents tailored to your organization’s needs, and how these can be used seamlessly across both VS Code and GitHub experiences.
By the end of the session, you’ll have a clear understanding of Copilot’s core capabilities and how to extend them to support your team’s development and operational workflows.
PSPlaceholders a.k.a the jinja tool for PowerShell
Presentation of PowerShell community module, called "PSPlaceholders". It can be used to find and replace placeholders in strings or files in simple templating scenarios, and also in complex ones without having to learn additional syntax.
The overall concept is very similar to jinja2, but instead of introducing new syntax, it leverages PowerShell expressions.
DevOps Vending Machine using Azure TemplateSpecs
Azure TemplateSpecs enables a new hybrid approach to manage the enterprise Azure infrastructure, following the IaC (Infrastructure as Code) methodology. The session is to depict how this functionality can democratize the DevOps process in any enterprise and is based on a success story in KPMG.
PSRule deep-dive with Rule development best practices
PSRule is a universal continuous assessment engine that benefits of the wide set of PowerShell capabilities. Come and see how you can develop your own rules, distribute and re-use them as PowerShell Modules. To do so you will explore how PSRule pipeline processing behaves and what are the best practices to alight with it.
