My name is Inma Alarcon Torres, CTO of SIPSA and TAST product Owner.

I am a Telecommunications Engineer (E.T.S.I.T - U.P.M) and throughout my professional career I have specialised in Quality, Testing and Test Automation.

I started developing test applications to test the telephony services of the main European Telco companies, and that's where I started to develop the idea of defining a product that would allow to perform automatic tests in a simple way, without having to know how to program, in order to make the testing process efficient and to reuse all the knowledge that functional testers have.

Due to the comings and goings of the economy and the crisis, I went on to work in process consulting and quality assurance for large organisations (Ericsson, Grupo Santander, BMW, Vodafone, etc.), which led me to complete my profile and understand the impact of technological evolution in organisations of all sizes.

In 2017, from SIPSA, I had the opportunity to make the product TAST (Test Automation System Tool - "my son 😊") the test automation tool that we are implementing in organisations of all sizes to cover test automation in transformation projects, a reality.

And because it's not all work, I describe myself as an enthusiastic, enterprising and hard-working person who, apart from being passionate about her work: quality, testing, automation and efficiency, likes to enjoy family and friends, sport (I'm a triathlete) and music, I play the tenor trombone and dare to play the drums.

Spherical Quality in digital transformation applied to the three-level model.

Spherical Quality in digital transformation applied to the quality model: E2E Quality, Automating the Testing Process and Involving the End-User.
Digital transformation impacts all systems and processes, we will consider Gartner's 6Rs of digital transformation applied to modernization projects for legacy applications: Retire, Retain, Replatform, Refactor, Rewrite and Replace.
Developments become agile with continuous deployments, where different systems integrate and concur to offer the final solution.
Software quality becomes a key element to assure business processes and its success.

Target: Software process and quality managers, managers of software organizations, product managers, IT managers, heads of development, persons responsible for applications, project managers, release managers, persons responsible for roll-out and operations, persons responsible for support, test managers, testers, developers, architects, designers and persons responsible for usability.

Challenges and victories of Test Automation on the road from Waterfall to Agile projects.

The road from waterfall to agile is not an easy one, but who said we like things to be easy?

Along the way we have encountered many bumps on the road, not just technical challenges but also mindset challenges and that through sweat and tears... effort and work, we have and continue to conquer.

We are successfully overcoming and showing our customers that quality and test automation are the key elements to achieve the customer satisfaction that the market demands from SW products in the digital era.
We are achieving this with efficiency, and we will show you how by sharing some customer stories.

Step into the user's shoes

In this rapidly transforming world towards digital technology, we are all, some unconsciously aware, consumers of Software, and as such, we need, not only applications of the highest quality with which to work, but also that the application be tailored to our needs and priorities. The user becomes the core of Quality, therefore, to achieve software quality it is mandatory to involve the user in the testing process. In theory it looks very nice, but the reality of the projects tells us that in most cases it is impossible to involve the end user, so Inma´s team has developed some techniques that help them to put themselves in the user's shoes when they cannot count on them.

Design Thinking is presented as a methodology for developing people-centred innovation, offering a lens through which to observe challenges, identify needs and, ultimately, solve them. They take place in moderated working sessions or workshops in which the whole team participates. They are very dynamic and graphic sessions supported by visual tools.

Inma´s teams apply this methodology on testing projects where through different techniques they involve the end user during the testing phases, and when they can't, they put themselves in the user´s shoes to understand their priorities and needs.

Among the many benefits of these group sessions, it is worth highlighting that at the project level:
1. Provides anticipation of user needs, requirements, you put yourself in the user's mind.
2. All the information and knowledge acquired gives rise to quality test case designs. Testing teams anticipate case studies by defining the test cases taking into account the end user's perspective.
3. Defining segmentation variables are a key point in guiding the workshops. Variables should aim to achieve maximum impact on testing.
4. Quality is applied from the beginning of the project without having defined the test plan, which guarantees an increase in the quality of the tests.
5. Investment of time that increases the efficiency and quality of the work and the project.

Dedicated audience: Tester, QA, Test Manager, Developer, Product Owner, Business. Speaker required equipment: Two ears microphone and a projector that connects via HDMI to my laptop. Post its colours & markers.

Key learning 1: Design thinking session, as well as the segmentation and user persona techniques.s

Key learning 2: Anticipation of user needs, requirements, put yourself in the user's mind.

Key learning 3: Testing teams anticipate case studies by defining the test cases taking into account the end user's perspective.

Key learning 4: Quality is applied from the beginning of the project without having defined the test plan, which guarantees an increase in the quality of the tests

Testing Model Canvas: your complete testing project at a glance

he Testing Model Canvas workshop allows testing teams to graphically visualize the end-to-end testing process, analyzing all the considerations that must be carried out in each of the testing applications.
It takes into account not only the needs of the application, but also all the technical or organizational dependencies in which the development is located.

We will work in groups, depending on the number of participants, grouped by type of IT project. Each group will work on completing the Testing Model Canvas of the project assigned to them after receiving theoretical information on how to work with the template.

Among the many benefits of these group sessions, it is worth highlighting that at the project level:
+ Anticipation in understanding of the project.
+ Visualization of the Quality critical path of the project.
+ Definition of objectives and next steps.
+ Set up of test cases.
+ Building a quality team with the know how to design effective test cases.

Target audience: Tester, QA, developer, Test Manager, Product Owner, Business.
