Crafting a Personal Brand: Your Career Deserves More Than Just a CV

Personal branding isn’t just for “influencers” - it helps set you apart from the crowd and opens the door to new opportunities. In such a heavily saturated industry, personal branding is becoming more important, but it can be daunting to start and tricky to stay consistent.

Drawing on my experience in marketing and community storytelling, I’ll guide you through what personal branding actually means and how it can benefit you, before covering 3 high-level strategies based on where you are in your journey:

- Entry level: you've never made a social media post, you're totally new to it all. Where do you start?
- Mid-level: you've made a few posts, but nothing too consistent. How do you keep momentum?
- Expert level: you consistently make posts that perform well. How can you increase reach and impact?

We'll cover how to use AI in personal branding, and some overarching tips and best practises regardless of the stage you're in.

You'll leave with a tangible strategy and tips to improve your personal branding - and hopefully the motivation to hit 'post' too!

Your Neuro-Inclusive Workplace Toolkit

Neurodiversity may seem like a buzzword, but 1 in 5 working adults are neurodivergent. A neuro-inclusive workplace not only supports and empowers those who are neurodivergent, but benefits the whole team.

This talk will equip managers with a neuro-inclusive toolkit, with a collection of tangible strategies, communication tips, and environmental considerations to create a truly supportive environment for neurodivergent people. We will explore practical adjustments and inclusive practices that benefit all employees and contribute to a more equitable workplace.

The Only LGBTQ+ Glossary You'll Ever Need

There are so many terms in the LGBTQ+ sphere that it can be hard to keep track and remember them all, particularly if you're not part of the community. This can sometimes lead to a bigger divide between the LGBTQ+ community and non-queer people; this talk aims to narrow this gap and empower you to be a better ally through a deeper understanding of terms.

Are you allowed to say the word 'queer'? How do we define 'non-binary'? How does it differ from 'trans'?

These questions, and many more, will be answered by me, a queer non-binary person, informed by my experiences in the tech world. The session is a safe and judgement-free zone designed to cultivate a more inclusive and respectful workplace. Attendees will leave this session with a better understanding of definitions, and feeling more confident in being a better ally to the queer community.

The Only Non-Binary Glossary You'll Ever Need

There are so many terms in the LGBTQ+ sphere that it can be hard to keep track of them and remember them all, particularly if you're not part of the community. Instead of focusing on the entire spectrum (which would need a far longer session!), this talk will focus on non-binary terms.

What does 'genderqueer' mean, and how is it different from 'genderfluid'? Where does the word 'trans' come in, how do you know when to use it?

These questions, and many more, will be answered by me, a non-binary person, informed by my experiences in the tech world. The session is a safe and non-judgemental space, designed to enable a more inclusive and respectful workplace.

My Neurodivergent Non-Technical Journey into Data

Are you neurodivergent and wanting to make your work more manageable?

I studied Film and English Literature at university - so how did I land in data? Honestly: Covid.
I then didn't intend to work in data (or marketing) for a substantial amount of time. I couldn't see myself working a 9-5 office job, and knew nothing about the world of data when I joined. So why have I decided to stick around? Because not only have I developed a passion for tech, but it works with my neurodivergent brain - particularly as a non-technical person.

I didn't know I was neurodivergent until I started full-time work; when I realised why I worked so well with deadlines, flexibility, and novelty, everything fell into place. So, I developed ways to hack my unmedicated brain to be able to function in a 9-5, without realising that I could ask for accommodations.

This session will look at what those hacks are, alongside the accommodations my workplace has offered to take the load off me. If you are neurodivergent, or work alongside a neurodivergent person, this session aims to bring awareness to how our brains work.
