Jennifer Dahlquist Ramirez, M.Ed., is a visionary educator and the EdTech CEO of JenEd InnovatEd (https://www.jenedinnovated.com/). With a focus on transformative education, Jennifer is dedicated to elevating language, ending shame culture, and empowering families and educators with tools to understand learner variability. She was among the first in the state to obtain autism authorization, and has a specific and special interest in supporting students and adults with a Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) autism profile.

Jennifer’s innovative curriculum, ElevatEd (formerly O.A.S.I.S.), addresses critical gaps in education standards, including the absence of executive function benchmarks. This program integrates social-emotional learning, neurotypical and neurodivergent communication, and executive function skills. Jennifer has successfully implemented ElevatEd in K-12 and adult transition settings. It is also appropriate for use across clinical, educational, and juvenile court settings. Her notable collaborations supporting student-athletes include partnerships with the USA 2024 AGG Bronze Medalist World Champions and Kuwait’s Rhythmic Gymnast National Champion, Maha Al Seger.

Supporting neurodivergent learners has been a cornerstone of Jennifer's career as an educator. She is equally dedicated to addressing the needs of students with eating disorders, and chronic illnesses, like functional neurologic disorders, Ehlers Danlos Syndrom and POTS. Jennifer understands these students' unique challenges and has developed effective strategies to ensure they receive tailored support within school settings.
Inspired by her mentor, Jose Navarro, through the 21 CSLA program, Jennifer reflects on his statement, “The job got in the way of the work.” She regards this as the truest observation she encountered as a public school educator. At JenEd InnovatEd, Jennifer ensures that “the job doesn’t get in the way of the work” by creating tech solutions for human systems and not just in education. The company is dedicated to elevating marginalized communities and addressing systemic challenges through innovative approaches. The company’s work is firmly rooted in justice, equity, neurodiversity, ethics, and dynamic instruction, enabling educators to focus on impactful teaching and meaningful connections.

Jennifer has held influential roles throughout her career, including Special Education Department Chair, special programs teacher, and co-teacher in college preparatory English classrooms. She has led initiatives to enhance special education programming for neurodivergent learners, trained new teachers, and served on the inception staff of two schools. As a licensed Be Body Positive Facilitator, Jennifer fosters a culture that celebrates authentic and ancestral beauty within school communities.

Jennifer’s exceptional contributions to education have earned her numerous accolades, including:

*Special Commendation from Barbara Bry, Councilwoman for the First District (2019).
*Certificate of Recognition from Tasha Boerner Horvath, Assembly Member for District 76 (2019).
*North County Consortium of Special Education’s Secondary Teacher of the Year (2013, 2019).
*Jostens’ Publisher Recognition (1995).

Driven by a commitment to advancing meaningful educational practices, Jennifer continues bridging education gaps and fostering success for all learners. Through her work at JenEd InnovatEd, she remains steadfast in creating systems prioritizing justice, equity, and dynamic solutions for student and educator success.

Elevating Educational Language Creating Neuro-Affirming and Inclusive Systems

This session addresses the urgent need to shift from deficit-based language to strengths-based, neuro-affirming communication across all educational settings. Participants will explore practical strategies for transforming Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), district documents, reports, and processes to center students, celebrate neurodiversity, and promote inclusivity.

Participants will be equipped with actionable tools, including sample phrases and frameworks that can be immediately implemented in their schools and districts. The session will highlight specific examples of "Instead of this, say this" language swaps, empowering educators to create a culture that celebrates all neurotypes and moves away from practices that unintentionally reinforce shame. Case studies featuring "before and after" language examples will be used to illustrate how simple changes can have profound effects on student perceptions and outcomes. By the end of the session, attendees will have a new vocabulary and mindset that elevates every student and reframes educational practices to focus on strengths and possibilities.
