Jeremy leads the Research & Evaluation (R&E) team at The Possible Zone (TPZ). In this role, he and the R&E team led development of TPZ's new Theory of Change, on which its next-gen program model was built, and developed a rigorous 5-year program evaluation plan. Today, Jeremy oversees TPZ's Program Evaluation and Institutional Research teams, which includes the Knowledge Management Technologies team, helping to foster continuous improvement org-wide. Previously, he served as CASEL's Director of Assessment and Continuous Improvement, supporting CASEL's collaborating districts and states with SEL implementation and assessment, while also working with scholars nationwide to help build a knowledgeable for SEL assessment. Jeremy holds a doctorate in Clinical Child Psychology from DePaul University and trained clinically at Johns Hopkins, Kennedy Krieger institute. To date, Jeremy presented at more than two dozen conferences and symposia, and has published more than a dozen times.
Diving Deep Into Artificial Intelligence: Using STEAM to Foster SEL
STEAM is an area where many students may not traditionally see themselves; it is crucial to design experiences that increase their self-awareness, sense of belonging, and self-efficacy. In this poster, we share insights from teaching a short course on artificial intelligence. We find that modeling SEL for students can have a profound effect on their engagement in STEAM activities.
