Topics
Treating Mental Asystole or How To Revive a Dead Class
Have you ever wished that you didn't have to go to class - as the teacher? This workshop offers techniques to re-engage even the most jaded, disenchanted, overwhelmed EMS students. Participants will learn to see the behavioral markers of a moribund learning environment and turn a classroom from deadly to productive. Improve student discipline and performance through active participation and respectful collaboration. Participants will develop practical tools to assess student understanding and address learning gaps before testing. This workshop is ideal for educators seeking to enhance classroom productivity.
Training for Brilliant Documentation
Documentation is the single most common procedure in EMS. Poor documentation contributes to adverse clinical outcomes and can hinder or even end the career of an individual EMT. This workshop takes a fresh look at teaching students what to write and how to write it. Instructors will learn how to add as much as 5 hours of documentation instruction without revamping an existing training program. We will investigate classroom practices that turn experience in the field into a sensible narrative on a PCR.
