Welcome to my short bio! Here you can find a guy who recently made the jump from the army to - let’s just say – a less stressful life. Eleven years in the armed forces, with a general specialization in IT and the latest years in cybersecurity, gave me the ticket to my current position in Performance Technologies S.A., as a Senior Security Engineer. In this role, I occupy myself with penetration tests, security assessments and consulting services. Moreover, I love sharing knowledge, so I also teach cybersecurity topics in New York College. Finally, in all the above let’s add the effort to get my PhD in Cybersecurity and all you have left is 6 hours of sleep!!!

Has your flight been cancelled? You might be eligible for a cybersec session!
On September 19, 2025, many European airports experienced major disruptions in their check-in systems. Flights were cancelled or delayed in Heathrow and other European cities' airports. The reason was a cyber - related incident that invovled a software for check-in and baggage handling, called Muse. Just days earlier NATO launched operation Eastern Sentry in response to an Article 4 declaration by the Polish government. Is there a connection between these 2 incidents? This session aims to present the circumstances under which the cyberattack took place, who were the victims, the technologies that were affected, what was happening on the international scene and how supply-chain or OT-related attacks on civilian infrastructure are primary objectives for nation-state backed threat actors in times of crisis and conflict.
Cyberwarfare in recent armed conflicts
Cyber became an official warfighting domain for the U.S. military in 2018. The Department of Defense (DoD) recognized it as a separate domain, distinct from land, sea, air, and space, in its 2018 National Defense Strategy. This decision reflected the growing importance of cyber capabilities in modern warfare, as adversaries increasingly used cyber tactics to disrupt, damage, or influence military operations, infrastructure, and even civilian systems. But is cyber that important? Is an army complete without it? And more importantly... is it used in armed conflicts nowadays or do armies just spend money for no reason? In this presentation, we will analyze all the major conflicts and wars of our time and see if cyber operations have played a crucial role (or not!) on these occasions. In addition, we will discuss what are the main targets of the attackers, and what tools they use to achieve their purposes. On the other hand, we’ll see if these attacks are repelled and what are the defenders’ actions. Moreover, we will assess the ethical implications of such offensive operations. Finally, we will present the results of our analysis and make some predictions concerning the future of cyberwarfare.
