Appreciative Alchemy with Spextrics
It's dress up time! What character will you play in a certain scenario? Will you choose the Surfer? Maybe you need to be a Reformer? How about a Conductor, or a Healer?
In this session, we'll take an insightful journey designed to create win-win scenarios for interpersonal dynamics, and have some fun while doing it. Bring your tough situations, your team building conundrums, and those facepalm-inducing alignment struggles, and let's play Spextrics! We'll forge new possibilities for how you can "play the game" of collaboration and teamwork for a collective win.
Breakfast Bites Back
How often do you find yourself saying, "culture eats strategy for breakfast"? In my work as an organizational change consultant, I focus a LOT on culture - but I'm here to tell you that culture itself doesn't tell us where we're going, or the logistics of how we're going to get there. In this session, we'll explore ways to clarify your organization's strategy, from that high-level vision, all the way down to the brass tacks of what needs to happen to get it done. Never worked on strategy before? COOL! Come play along and see what you can figure out within your organization just by looking. You'll come away armed with some pointed, intentional questions to clarify choices, and a tummy full of yummy, strategic breakfast.
Stop Assuming Positive Intent
Wait, what? Yes, you heard us right. “Assume positive intent” is something we’ve all seen listed in team working agreements, and many of us have probably given this advice to someone else. But what would happen if we… didn’t automatically assume positive intent? In this workshop, we’ll journey back to the origins of assuming positive intent, and wend our way through to the present, exploring the impact this mandate has had on us as agilists. You’ll leave this workshop with a more holistic view of “positive intent,” assumptions, and everything that goes along with it, including tools to help you and your teams create your own assertions. We invite you to come explore with us - and to stop assuming positive intent.
Defend Your Den: What being a Detroit Lions fan has taught us about Agility (and life)
Growing up in Michigan, we had no choice but to cheer for the Detroit Lions. Although it’s been a long, mostly frustrating road through fandom, we’ve managed to glean some important lessons about Agility from our lovable losers. Join us to learn about “Defending your Den” - the top 10 things that being a Detroit Lions fan has taught us about being Agile. We are pretty excited to share it with you, because this is going to be their year!
An Exploration of Agile Models
But why male models?! I mean, Agile… why Agile models? Or just models. This talk isn’t about Tyra Banks or Heidi Klum, Tyson Beckford, or even Derek Zoolander… let’s unravel the sweater as we dive into that old notion that “all models are wrong, but some are useful” …which ones? And how can we make sense of them all? In this session, I’ll share my journey with models, the ones I’ve used, how I use them, and why I seriously see SPINEs everywhere. If you’re looking for a session that gets real meta, makes ridiculous movie references, and just might melt your brain a skosh, then look no further!
*no prime ministers, male models, or ants were harmed in the creation of this talk.
