Do you trust me?

In this talk, Mattias Andersson shares his actionable three-word definition of Information Security, demonstrates good and bad security through both personal stories and industry events (and not just data breaches), and describes how the Kano Model can be applied to building trust. With some interactivity, an audience volunteer, and even a short sing-along, you'll enjoy learning about security and product design (both independently and together). Mattias promises to touch on but spend at most 5 minutes on GenAI—and he says you can trust him on that.

A Surprisingly Interesting Look at Intellectual Property Law and Liability in an AI World

Artificial Intelligence and especially Generative AI bring with them a maelstrom of legal ramifications. And although these seem like completely new issues, they still have a lot in common with the ones from yesteryear. We’ll use stories including Selfie Monkeys, One Dollar Trucks (no takesies backsies), and Books Stripped Naked to take a non-lawyer’s whirlwind tour of Intellectual Property law & legal liability and how they interact with advances in Information Technology. In the end, you’ll come away with both a better understanding of these waters and ideas on how you can sail your way more successfully through them (both generally and specifically).

Are Multi-cloud and Serverless Good or Bad?

There's good multi-cloud and there's bad multi-cloud. There's good serverless and there's bad serverless. And they interact. In this talk, Mattias will break these things down and give you a pragmatic way to assess and use them.

You'll learn a number of helpful things that you didn't know that you didn't know--whether you use AWS, GCP, Azure, something else, or not.

You'll come away with an understanding of how to recognize and achieve good multi-cloud and good serverless, and some valuable heuristics for when they offer a good trade-off.

Topics include:
• The "Shape" of Serverless
• "Cloud-Native"
• The Control-Responsibility spectrum
• Good vs bad multi-cloud
• Wise words from pioneer heroes of computer programming, Donald Knuth and Grace Hopper
• And more!

Dev Superpowers

Today's services and tools can give developers SUPERPOWERS! In this talk, we'll take a look at several people who managed to accomplish things you would read about in a book and say, "That's so unrealistic!" Fiction has become reality, through tech advancement. You'll learn how to recognize these powerful opportunities and wield them yourself.
