When I was in college I started my career as a .NET developer. In the meantime, I graduated and moved to another city where I accidentally bumped into Dynamics NAV. Step by step, I was more and more in love with it. And now I am a Dynamics 365 Business Central developer with a little knowledge of .NET and JavaScript.
Since we have a great community that I have been following for some time now that motivated me to start my blog mmilince.com. I started writing about real-life Business Central things which could help other devs also.

Tools and techniques for optimizing Dynamics 365 Business Central

Writing fast and reliable code is an essential skill for developers working with Dynamics 365 Business Central. However, it can be difficult to spot and resolve potential issues that affect the quality and performance of the code. Luckily, Microsoft has introduced a different set of tools that can help developers check code and find problems in Business Central.
In this session, I will show you how to use these tools to fine-tune your code and enhance your solution. I will also share some best practices and tips for writing effective code for Business Central.
By attending this session, you will learn how to use the tools and techniques for optimizing code and improving your coding skills.

Power of Queries in Business Central

Queries have not been commonly used in the ERP world since the NAV era. However, with Dynamics 365 Business Central now exposed to other applications, users can use queries to perform various integrations through API queries. Queries can also enhance user reporting experience and provide new dimensions of reporting capabilities to Dynamics 365 Business Central.

In our session, we will demonstrate how to develop various query types, build reports based on query datasets, track queries in telemetry, and use them in various integration and user reporting scenarios.

Extending Dynamics 365 Business Central with Virtual Tables and Business Events

Virtual Tables and Business Events represent new concepts in integrating Dynamics 365 Business Central with other applications, regardless of whether the application is a custom .Net application or an application built with Power Platform.

In this session, you will learn how to:

- Create and use Virtual Tables to access and manipulate Dynamics 365 Business Central data.

- Subscribe to and publish Business Events to trigger and handle workflows and processes across custom applications, Power Platform, and Dynamics 365 Business Central.

- Deep dive into webhooks and demystify Business Events to handle specific scenarios and requirements.

- Track and monitor telemetry data to optimize performance and troubleshoot issues using Application Insights

Extending Business Central: A Deep Dive into Virtual Tables and Business Events

Extending Dynamics 365 Business Central has never been easier, thanks to Microsoft's new features for connecting to Dataverse. Explore the practical benefits of Virtual Tables and Business Events, enabling developers and consultants to easily integrate out-of-the-box solutions. But that's not all – we'll show you how to go beyond, extending and building applications and workflows for those situations when standard functionality is insufficient. Optimizing SQL queries in Business Central

It has always been a challenge for developers to write efficient and optimized code.
With the last few versions of Dynamics 365 Business Central, Microsoft introduced a different set of tools that can help analyze code. It has never been easier to detect problems in Business Central.
In this session, I will show you how to detect, analyze and optimize your possibly inefficient solution. Since indexes have a large impact on performance, I will talk about the SIFT and NCCI indexes, when to use them, and how to apply them to real examples. Join my 90 min session to find out more about optimizing the Business Central.

From RDLC to Power BI – reporting capabilities in Business Central

For decades, developers have had the possibility to develop reports based on various data sources.
With the new version of Dynamics 365 Business Central, developers, key users, and consultants can build reports and modify them even without having development experience.
In our session, we will show you how to create a report from scratch, the possibilities of RDLC, Word, and Excel layouts, and when to use them. We will show how we can easily monitor reports execution in Telemetry and track eventual problems.
When standard reporting is not enough, users can utilize BI reporting through Power BI and share reports with colleagues. Join our 90 min session about reports and Power BI capabilities.
