Learning effective Kanban from your favorite coffee place

Delivering the worlds first flying car race!
In 2021, I got a project on my desk that seemed impossible to deliver.
The client came to us with a brief on launching the first race for electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicles - Airspeeder.
Since June 2021, our team has delivered vital software components for remotely controlled speeders – 100kg vehicles capable of flying 160 kmph. In addition, our team built and integrated necessary components from network infrastructure to real-time telemetry dashboards and cross-reality pilot HUDs.
This is my story of leading racing system software delivery for Airspeeder - The First Electric Car Race series and how we got from knowing nothing about eVTOL to becoming experts in building ground software for flying cars.

Better estimates with Monte Carlo simulations
This talk is about how we used Monte Carlo simulations for creating project estimates and forecasting releases. My team was using this method when delivering solutions for a large, regulated organisation undergoing a transformation towards Agile processes.
I would like to share my experiences about how it helped my team to educate Product Owner and stakeholders on complexity of development work, and differences between forecasts and commitments. Also , how it helped us to engage stakeholders and Product Owner involved in work prioritisation and keep them involved and accountable for their decisions
Data Lakes beyond clusters
Data Lakes built with clusters established their place in advanced analytics. Does cluster approach have to be necessary? Can we remove the maintenance of clusters and infrastructure costs and focus on the analytical work?
During this session I'm going to explain different flavours of Data Lakes and what are benefits and disadvantages of each of them. I will also demonstrate how run analytics from scratch in minutes, leveraging serverless platforms available at most popular cloud providers.
