Hands-on Workshop: Microsoft Agent Framework - Building AI Agents with C#
Experience how real AI agents are built with the Microsoft Agent Framework. In this intensive hands-on workshop, Gregor Biswanger, generative AI expert and Microsoft MVP for Azure AI, guides you through the architecture and practical implementation of modern AI agents in the .NET ecosystem.
This workshop is not about agent-washing, but about technical substance. What separates real AI agents from chatbots, prompt workflows, and traditional automation with an AI label? When does an agent-based architecture actually make sense, and when are other architectural patterns the better choice? These questions are clarified before moving directly into implementation.
Using .NET, C#, and the Microsoft Agent Framework, you will build your own AI agents, integrate tools and functions, orchestrate agent behavior, and learn how agent-based solutions can be embedded into real-world business applications. The workshop also draws on practical experience from production customer projects with Semantic Kernel, Azure OpenAI, and generative AI.
This workshop is designed for developers, software architects, and technical decision-makers who want to understand how modern AI agents are built in the Microsoft ecosystem and how the Microsoft Agent Framework can be used as a foundation for production-ready AI applications.
In this hands-on workshop, Gregor Biswanger, generative AI expert and Microsoft MVP for Azure AI, shows how to build real AI agents with the Microsoft Agent Framework, .NET, and C#. The focus is on clear architecture decisions, the difference between agents, chatbots, prompt workflows, and agent-washing, as well as the practical implementation of agent-based solutions for real-world business applications.
