A document lands in SharePoint. Is it an invoice, an application form or a letter? Which details matter, and can we trust an AI service to find them?

In this session, we’ll work through a realistic document processing scenario using Microsoft Syntex and Azure AI Document Intelligence. We’ll look at how each service can recognise documents and extract fields, then explore what happens when the documents aren’t neat: pages are scanned, layouts change, fields are missing or the result needs a person to check it.

I’ll share how I’d choose between the two approaches, what I’d test with a sample set of documents, and how to make the extracted data useful in SharePoint or a wider business process.
