Migrating to Microsoft Fabric - Notes From the Field
Microsoft Fabric is the future, no doubt about that. As a consequence, many of my clients are looking to Fabric to solve their future analytics needs. But - rarely do analytics projects begin from scratch; most often there is some kind of migration of an older technology stack involved.
Sadly, this is often overlooked in the brave new world of the cloud in general, and Microsoft Fabric in particular. In fact, there is rarely a straight shot from any current platform to Microsoft Fabric, and most any migration will involve a smaller or larger amount of code conversion.
After several migration projects from both on-prem and cloud based offerings to Microsoft Fabric, I have collected my experiences into a session that takes a long, hard look at the opportunities and challenges inherent in trying to migrate just about any existing analytics workload to Microsoft Fabric.
This session will give you a better understanding of the road ahead, the challenges lurking under the surface, and some of the decisions you face - should you wish to embark on the same journey.
