Test Global DNS Like an Incubating Project with k8gb
How can you test global DNS failover without cloud accounts, production DNS zones, or geographically distributed infrastructure?
In this hands-on ContribFest, participants will use k8gb’s local multi-cluster lab to build advanced end-to-end tests for global DNS traffic management. Working with maintainers, attendees will run Kubernetes clusters and authoritative edge DNS on a workstation, simulate application, network, and cluster failures, and verify DNS delegation, failover, failback, round-robin, and weighted traffic distribution.
As a CNCF Incubating project, k8gb needs reliable and accessible testing to support production adoption and a growing contributor community.
Participants will contribute declarative scenarios, reusable assertions, and better diagnostics - producing reviewable upstream contributions and practical techniques for testing complex global DNS behavior locally.
