async2 - The new runtime async in dotnet 11 and beyond

async/await has been the gold standard for non-blocking code in .NET. But for over a decade, the "magic" has been a sleight of hand performed almost entirely by the C# compiler, while the Runtime remained largely blind.

.NET 11 changes that! The responsibility for asynchrony is shifting from the compiler’s complex state machines into the heart of the CoreCLR. This session explores the architectural shift from "Compiler-Generated" to "Runtime-Native" async. What does the runtime do, and why is it beneficial in the first place?
