Azure SQL administration and monitoring - how DBA role in Cloud has changed

Introducing Azure SQL by Microsoft was quite a game changer for DBA world. Not only with engine running in cloud, a lot of maintenance and configuration elements were lifted from us, while at the same time other responsibilities arises. Make no mistake – PaaS Database, being managed by Azure, still requires DBA care and attention to keep it running with high performance and without unnecessary costs.
Azure offers a lot of new tools (from DBA perspective), sometimes in familiar flavor, that provides wide range of options integrated natively in Cloud environment.
During this session I would like us to go thru Log Analytics with Metrics and Intelligent Insights, Query Performance Insights, Adaptive alerting, SQL Insights in Azure Monitor and many more components that are Cloud DBA’s day to day landscape.
