Your Own Box Office: Event Ticketing with Customer Insights Journeys

Running events on Dynamics 365 Customer Insights Journeys is easy… until you need ticketing, payments, check-ins, and a half-decent website. In this session we’ll walk through the main patterns for building event sites with paid tickets on top of CIJ: Power Pages portals, custom implementations, WordPress, and hybrids where third-party ticketing platforms handle payments while Journeys owns engagement and automation.

Decisions, decisions:

- How to talk to CIJ: Dataverse direct or Events API
- How to register: standalone pages, built-in registration forms, or custom forms
- How to build front-end: React vs pre-cooked HTML/JavaScript (can you vibe it?!)
- How to serve: invest in backend or "serverless"
- How to get rich: own the payment process or delegate to a provider

We’ll also look at handling tickets, QR codes, and check-ins; dealing with sessions and waiting lists; multi-day scheduling, time zones, and online events; plus capturing dietary and accessibility requirements in custom fields so you don’t accidentally hospitalise your attendees.

Everything you need to know to make your next event a box office success.
