Sami has been working with agile principles in banking sector since 2012, first as a scrum-master and agile coach with Nordea Bank's IT functions and later, since 2018, within OP Financial Group. Around 2020, during OP's agile transformation, his focus started to shift from agile development teams to supporting business and especially leadership teams in their transformation to more agile practices. Presently he is working with an agile coach team supporting the claims services (circa 1000 persons) in OP's Pohjola insurance area, concentrating on the claims services' leadership.
Embarking on Agile Odyssey: Navigating challenges in service production transformation
Our talk will address challenges and roadblocks a service production organization in claims department faced when implementing agile methodologies.
We will address three specific areas: Implementation of cross-functional teams, flattening the organizational structure and what new capabilities it required from the teams, and finally the change that all of this required in the leadership environment and mindset.
Joining this session, you will learn the problems we faced and how they were solved in our context. Together with the audience we will go through the learnings and try to find out which of them are case-specific and which could be more universal. We are aiming to have a highly interactive talk, so you will be able to take part in the conversation throughout the session.
