Power Platform Custom Connectors

Though Microsoft Power Automate offers over 750 connectors to connect to Microsoft and verified services, you may want to communicate with services that aren't available as prebuilt connectors.
Custom connectors address this scenario by allowing you to create and distribute a connector with its own triggers and action, thus truly extending the Power Platform by bringing your own APIs!!

In this session, Shidin will walk you through the steps of creating a custom connector from scratch and Chris will build an app from scratch consuming this custom connector,

Power Platform ALM using the ALM Accelerator for Makers

Makers and maker teams can use the ALM accelerator for Microsoft Power Platform to implement source control and deploy solutions in Microsoft Power Platform. With the ALM Accelerator for Power Platform app, makers can perform source control, enable version history, and deploy their solutions in Power Platform. The combination of Azure Pipelines and the app is what makes up the full ALM accelerator for Microsoft Power Platform.

While an advanced knowledge of ALM isn't required to use the accelerator, it's important that makers understand how to use solutions in Microsoft Power Platform.

Designing for Success: Applying the Power Platform Well-Architected Framework

As organizations scale their use of the Power Platform, the need for robust, secure, and maintainable architecture becomes critical. This session introduces the Power Platform Well-Architected Framework—a structured approach to designing solutions that align with Microsoft’s five architectural pillars: reliability, security, cost optimization, operational excellence, and performance efficiency.

Attendees will gain practical insights into how to apply these principles when building apps, flows, and data models. We’ll explore how to choose the right components—canvas apps, model-driven apps, Power Pages, or Dataverse—based on business needs and scalability. You’ll also learn how to implement effective environment strategies, data loss prevention (DLP) policies, and role-based access controls to secure your solutions.

The session will cover best practices for Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), including using pipelines, GitHub, and Azure DevOps for solution deployment. We’ll also highlight tools like the Center of Excellence (CoE) Starter Kit and Performance Insights to monitor and optimize your architecture.

PowerApps BuildTools

Shidin will introduce us to the PowerApps BuildTools for Azure DevOps, that are currently in preview mode.
In this session, Shidin will walk us through creating the required pipelines that will automatically export a solution (as unmanaged) from a development instance, generate the build artifacts (managed solution) and finally deploy the managed solution into Production.
