What IS the value of the Power Platform?!?

Of course the Power Platform is valuable but how do we describe that value?!

When we talk of value we often immediately think of the amazing solutions that can be built to transform businesses and processes.

BUT it’s a Power PLATFORM not a Power APPform…

Have we recognised and delivered the full value of it as a PLATFORM? What is that value? Who does it matter to?

This session will introduce you to different types of value of the Power Platform the characters in a organisation they matter to, and help you show how the investment outweighs the cost!

This is a topic that’s landed well with customers, and Microsoft, but is the first time I’ve delivered it as a session.
Target audience are IT and Business Leaders, CoE and Platform Owner teams.
Ideally suited to a 20 - 30 min session.

Rescued by Power Rangers - A story of Mental Health Exploration, Discovery, and Transformation

You may have heard people stories about the Power Platform and how it changes lives. It certainly changed, and possibly saved, mine!

It’s a story of how I was going through a challenging time with my mental health and, without even knowing it, the Power Platform community supported me through and out the other side of it.

I’ll share my story but more importantly some lessons from my self exploration, discovery, and transformation, and my thanks to the Power Platform community.

I want it all and I want it now - Taming the dragons of Power Platform

By day Power Platform is a place where creativity is unleashed, problems are solved, and heroes are made…
But by night it can be a scary place where dragons attack unprotected data, they carry off our excitement, and burn our apps and flows to the ground!
This isn’t how it has to be though. Our Admins Protect the city with their shield of governance and give our Citizen Devs the flexibility and permissions they need to showcase their skills, solve problems, and slay their dragons and become the heroes.

To do this we need to have an honest conversation about the challenges we face, the fires we often put out and what matters to each group; creating a collaborative Power Platform team that champions real user needs in a sustainable manner. It all starts with seeing the perspectives of all communities involved, separating myths from the truths and finding how we make governance more accessible.

We don’t have to kill governance; there is another way. In this session, you will learn how to debunk misconceptions about Power Platform governance, align with your organization' s vision, culture, and goals and educate your community to foster a culture of trusted innovation and responsibility for end user needs whilst monitoring with the latest tools that drive seamless dragon coexistence.

Creating a Power Platform Pandemic using Viral Change

Across this wonderful community we inspire each other, we learn from each other, we encourage and inspire each other to try things, to do more. Together we create a movement. But how?

How do we *infect* people with excitement to have a desire for change? How does that turn into a movement?

In this session you'll learn about viral change and understand the principles for how you can turn a Power Platform maker movement into a *pandemic* and show you how to use the same viral change principles to change behaviors and grow mass adoption of Power Platform in ANY organisation!

Is AI going to take my job? Maybe?! Practical advice for getting ahead of the curve!

“It’s a job changing thing, not a job taking thing.”
“It’s just the evolution of work. People will evolve their up-skilling (and
development) to stay current.”
“AI won’t take your job but someone using AI might take your job.”

Are these statements true? Maybe… Maybe not!

Are you ready for the AI revolution? AI is the biggest thing since the Industrial Revolution and will affect our work, our skills, and our lives. In the relatively short time since ChatGPT launched publicly we’ve seen huge amounts of rapid change. We’ve seen AI tools and Copilots popping up EVERYWHERE! You can even build your own!

With AI appearing everywhere, in everything, what might the impact be over the coming Year… 5 years… Decades? What types of jobs might be impacted?

What can we do about it? How can we learn from the past to predict the future? How can we we embrace change - How do we keep ahead of the change and help others do the same?

In this session we’ll explore:
- How you can enable people with the relevant Copilot skills they need through a scalable governance model as a foundation of a CoE
- Measuring and maximising value through the lifecycle
- Ensuring responsible and secure use of AI
- Building the right communities to spread the load

Whether you are a government, an organisation, a tech company, or an individual, you need to learn, share, and collaborate with AI. This session will help you start your journey and get ahead of the curve!

Journey to the Centre of Enablement! - Growing adoption in Power Platform

Microsoft’s Mission is to “empower every person and every organisation on the planet to achieve more”

From a Power Platform perspective we can look at this as growing citizen development across an organisation through changing and embedding behaviours so people work and solve problems in a different way than they might do today… But why? And how?

We know that we need a safe, secure, and scalable platform configured. One that’s surrounded by the right processes to help people and provide the right size of governance, and that we need to connect across an organisation to implement it… We need a Centre of Excellence (CoE). But how do you change behaviours so people realise they CAN start, learn, solve problems and change their organisation, their work, themselves, and their lives.

In this session you’ll learn:

How we can enable people through a scalable governance model as a foundation for our CoE
The value that can be identified to different people through an organisation
How to maximise that value through establishing a Centre of Enablement (CoEn) and starting a maker movement
With these insights in your tool belt, and through learning how to engage with people, inspiring them, building relationships and helping them learn how to learn, you can bring the low code magic for all and change the world!!
