I work as a Salesforce Consultant, having first broke into the Salesforce ecosystem in 2016 as a Nonprofit Admin, I spent 5 years working as an Admin (primarily in a solo capacity) before moving into the world of consultancy. I serve as a Trailblazer Community Group Leader in the North East of England and spend a great deal of time giving my time to support the Salesforce ecosystem. I love all things Flow and App Builder, you will often find me speaking at Community events covering topics relating to Flow or Salesforce Admin in general. How Do I Understand the Salesforce Admin Role in 2023 and Beyond?
The Salesforce Admin role has changed quite considerably over the last few years. Much of the Salesforce Admin landscape now includes tasks that were historically taken up by other roles such as Salesforce Developers. So how do new Admins entering the Salesforce ecosystem understand the Admin role? This session will seek to provide that answer and some tips and resources to help you really get started on the Admin journey.
ChatGPT ... How Does it Flow?
Can an AI tool build a Flow matching best practice standards? If this sentence intrigues you, then this session will be worth checking out. In it we will ask OpenAI's ChatGPT tool to put together instructions for building a Flow based on a use case. We'll check out the results together and see how it compares to current Flow best practices. You might find the results a little surprising.
ChatGPT has been in a lot of conversation in and around the Trailblazer Community over the last number of weeks. As someone who has a major focus on Flow, I recently experimented with asking ChatGPT to provide instructions on how to put together a Flow based on a requirement. This brought about some mixed results and some content that will be coming to my blog very soon. This is what led to the idea for this session. The main idea for this session will be to select from a selection of use case requirements, submit them to ChatGPT and compare the results to Flow. Depending on the setup I'm thinking of having this be interactive and have the attendees select the Flow use cases submitted to ChatGPT. The basic makeup will be to submit the use case to ChatGPT, compare that to best practices in Flow Builder and review where the gaps are. Depending on time, I'm thinking that it could be good to even demo the Flows and show them in the backend and maybe running. This session will prove insightful to the attendees as it will give them a flavour on the accuracy of an AI tool such as ChatGPT. It will prove intriguing to those interested in AI and declarative automation in Salesforce using Flow. It should also prove to be a fun session.
Supercharge Slack with Flow Actions
Flow and Slack are hot topics right now!!! Imagine bringing these two together to create a seamless method of communication for your users. This is exactly what you can do with Slack Actions for Flow! In this session you will see how you can use Flow Builder to communicate with Slack using Slack Actions. If you're an Admin who is wanting to get the most out of Slack, Slack Actions are a fantastic way to do that through the power of automation. It's time to use Automagic to make your users happy.
This is a session that I have been delivering across the Trailblazer Community across the last year. Flow and Slack are both very big topics in the Trailblazer Community and this session provides attendees with an opportunity to learn a little about what Slack Actions can do in the Flow space. This session in the past has proven to be very effective in and around the community events that I have been able to deliver this in. Within the session, we cover around 7 different Slack Actions by giving the attendees a brief tour of what they can do and some tips on how they can use Slack Actions in their company. This session was combined with coverage on Flow Orchestrator at Dreamforce in a combined talk that showcases how you could use Slack Actions within an Orchestration. This session provides attendees with a chance to see the Salesforce for Slack App in action and to see how they can implement some of these actions in their workplace. I do also cover some of my tips for getting the most out of Slack Actions, such as storing the Slack Channel Id and the Message Timestamp inside of Salesforce somewhere for future reference. I believe this session acts as a great introduction to Slack Actions in Flow for Salesforce Admins who haven't used the functionality too much as of yet.
