“The Convergence” - how AI is changing Digital Roles and Teams

"The Convergence" is a future facing discussion about the profound impact of AI on Agile Product Delivery roles, ushering in an era where AI Transformations become the focal point, surpassing the current realms of Agile and Digital Transformation approaches. This session will dissect the expected evolution of key team roles, showcasing how currently compartmentalised roles will converge into new hybrid forms. We will focus on specific roles, including Engineers, Product Managers, UX Designers, and Delivery Managers, providing practical examples and case studies to illustrate these anticipated changes.

The session will explore how AI is becoming an integral part of the toolkit for all people involved in Product Delivery roles. Software Engineers will reduce “time to value” with practices such as AI pairing and rapid in-line quality assurance. Product Managers will discover new avenues for data driven decision-making and strategy formulation as they navigate a transformed landscape influenced by AI insights. UX Designers will experience an evolution in their roles by aligning human-centric design and rapid prototyping with the technological advancements brought by AI. Delivery Managers will gain deeper insight into commercial and delivery risks with the use of AI tooling to analyse and forecast the potential successful outcomes.

We will discuss how “The Convergence” of roles is going to change our approach to shaping team capabilities, how it will increase in speed with which teams will need to form / reform, and how this will significantly alter the daily activity of people in these fluid micro teams.

In parallel, we will delve into the implications of this shift, where Agile and Digital transformations are rapidly surpassed by AI Transformation. The session will underscore how AI-driven strategies redefine success metrics and how the Value Delivery Life Cycle (VDLC) emerges as the cornerstone of AI Transformations.

The Product Confidence Trap

Are you struggling to move forward with your product development process because you're unsure if you have enough insight or have explored all the customer needs? Are you stuck in the 'Product Confidence Trap'? If you answered yes to either of these questions, then this session is for you.

Design Thinking and Product Discovery practices help us to learn more about business strategy, customer opportunities, potential solutions, and how to deliver customer value. This is a non-linear flow that helps us to increase confidence in our chosen direction of travel.

The ‘Product Confidence Trap’ is a mental loop in which we can get stuck while we are looking to confirm that we have increased confidence enough to move forwards. This occurs often when we are unsure that we have enough insight. It can be hard to assess if and when we can move on based on the level of risk we are willing to take. This interactive session will help you understand and break out of the trap to successfully continue with your product delivery roadmap.

Through the session, we will take you through the different phases of Product Discovery, including strategy, opportunity, solution, and delivery. We'll discuss how you can increase your confidence during these phases and make weighted decisions to move forward. We'll provide you with a framework that you can use to assess your product context, grow confidence in the insight you have developed, and decide on your next best option to deliver customer value.

> Strategy - How might we assess we have shaped the vision enough?
> Opportunity - How might we decide we have explored the customer's needs correctly?
> Solution - How might we know we have designed the appropriate solutions?
> Delivery - How might we be confident we have decided on the correct way to deliver?

But that's not all. This session is not just about sitting and listening to a speaker; it's interactive. We'll be using Google Slides and Slido to engage with the audience and create a collaborative experience. Our Slido polls will allow us to gather real-time feedback and opinions from the audience, and provide the opportunity to learn from each others' experiences and insights.

We'll also be using practical real-life examples of how to break out of the 'Product Confidence Trap.' You'll get to hear about organisations that faced these issues and how they could have avoided it or broken out of it.

By the end of this session, you'll have new tools that will enable you to break out of the 'Product Confidence Trap' and confidently move forward with your product development process. You'll leave with a better understanding of how to assess your product context, grow confidence in the insight you have developed, and decide on your next best option to deliver customer value.

Team Performance Evolution

Self-organising teams are at the heart of the success of Agile approaches - however we often fail to fully empower and support the growth of teams as they adopt, adapt, and accelerate their agile team delivery practices.

Agile metrics and measures can get a lot of attention as teams evolve. Some of this attention is progressive (e.g. Team health, psychological safety, value delivery etc.) and some of this attention is controlling / negative (e.g. Micro management, individual review etc). Teams need to be empowered to shape what they need in context to their current evolutionary status.

This session introduces a model team can use to develop a set of objective and subjective metrics that bring the team together and that supports their long term sustainable pace. The approach is ‘For the team, by the team’ rather than a management control approach. The core of the Team Traits section is focused on the way the team develops psychological safety, a learning culture, and overall resilience.

During this session we will look at four areas of focus through which team performance can evolve and accelerate teams towards the delivery of real business impact :-

> Team Traits - The subjective measures that focus on behaviours
> Team Measures - The objective measures that matter to the team
> Business Agility Measures - The operational changes required to create the right environment
> Business Impact - The desired outcomes from the team performance.

Each of the sections builds together to provide a self-organising team with an evolutionary framework that they can apply in a wide variety of circumstances. The aim is to empower teams to choose and track the appropriate measures that will accelerate them forwards as a team.
