Picking the Right AI for the Job: AI Builder vs Copilot Studio
Power Platform now gives you multiple ways to add AI to your solutions, but many teams get stuck on the same question: which approach fits this use case best? Picking the wrong tool can lead to unnecessary complexity, unexpected costs, and solutions that don’t scale.
In this beginner-friendly session, we’ll build a simple decision framework using real examples like document processing, image recognition, and conversation-based agents that can guide users and trigger actions.
We’ll also touch on the most important real-world considerations like licensing, governance, and maintenance, so your choice holds up beyond a demo. You’ll leave with clear criteria you can apply immediately, whether you’re building your first AI-powered solution or planning adoption across a team.
From Inbox to Action: Building Your First Agent with Copilot Studio
Copilot Studio opens the door to a new kind of solution in Power Platform: agents that can guide users, collect information, and trigger real actions. But where do you start, and what does a useful first agent actually look like?
In this beginner-friendly session, we’ll build a simple agent in Copilot Studio, starting with a lightweight email triage scenario. From there, we’ll look at how the same core ideas can be applied to other common use cases, like lead qualification and internal request intake.
Along the way, you’ll get a practical introduction to how agents can ask the right questions, capture key details, and connect to business processes. The goal is not just to show features, but to help you understand the kinds of problems Copilot Studio is good at solving.
You’ll leave with a clear mental model for getting started and ideas you can adapt to your own organization.
AI in Action: Process Automation with Power Automate and Azure OpenAI
Discover how Large Language Models (LLMs) can expand the range of tasks you can automate using Power Automate, from triaging emails to processing unstructured data and generating content on demand.
In this practical session, you will learn what AI Builder is, where it works well, and why it can be limiting in cost, flexibility, and control. We will compare it to Azure OpenAI, showing how calling GPT models via APIs gives you more transparency, better results, and often much lower costs, while giving you full control over how your AI works.
You will also learn the basics of prompt engineering, including proven techniques for getting more reliable and accurate outputs.
We will wrap up with live demos of real-world use cases such as email triage, text classification, and AI-driven content creation, so you leave with ideas you can start applying right away.

I’ll discuss the top technical skills required for a Power Platform freelancer, as well as the essential soft skills you might not think of at first.
Drawing from my own experience, I’ll walk through how I built my freelance career. While my path is just one way to succeed, I’ll offer advice for those considering this career move. We will also dive into maximizing earning potential, focusing on the critical factors that set high-earning freelancers apart from the rest.
By the end of the session, participants will have a clear roadmap for transitioning into freelancing, complete with practical steps, resources, and actionable strategies to help them build and sustain a successful freelance career in the Power Platform ecosystem. Whether you're just starting or already on the path, this session will inspire and equip you to thrive as a PowerApps freelancer.
